Even though the Dining Hall still featured its famous long lines for omelets and waffles, it also ushered in some improvements for the spring 2010 semester. And although home cooking is infinitely better than anything Chartwells could serve, it still helps to know that they are putting in the extra effort.

It was bound to happen to us, Purchase College.

Thanksgiving is a holiday where people are supposed to be thankful for what they have. When everyone goes around the table mentioning what they are thankful for, you usually hear things like family, friends, and wellbeing. However, at Purchase College, no one is walking around blessing the food. Instead, most students are thankful once they’re at home for the delicious food their families have made to complete their Thanksgiving dinner.

In the past few years, people have been changing their lifestyles for the sake of “going green” because of the environmental and financial benefits. At first, only environmentally conscious individuals were participating.

Dear Purchase College smokers,

On behalf of Purchase College, I would like to be the first to thank you for raising our chances of developing lung cancer as a result of your smoking habits. Given such a wide-open and spacious campus, we challenged you to find a way for your smoking to be the most inconvenient for us. And, like everything else about you, you didn’t disappoint.

Purchase College, it’s time to think past the pizza, and open your eyes to more options than pepperoni and cheese. Students have remarked consistently about the unsatisfying fair served up at clubs and events. These meetings typically serve pizza and soda, two of the most fattening, unhealthy, and frequently consumed items in existence.

The White House continued to use its bullying tactics in their most recent attempt to silence their critics. The Obama administration uses the strategy of publicly isolating their critics to disenfranchise them of their claims. Their most recent attempt targets Fox News with the accusation that it is a “network of opinion” and “not real news reporting.” The administration continues to campaign against elements that pose no real threats to them. This was the case during Obama’s election bid, too.

No American enjoys seeing the casualty statistics of American wars. It brings no pleasure to a man to read the news and hear that death totals are in the several thousands. But in American history, despite what liberals may suggest, we have always been in necessary wars. Even the wars fought in post-World War II were wars our great nation had to fight.

Now that you’ve learned the food on campus isn’t the best, you want to know where the affordable supermarkets are in the area. Hopefully you have a car or else you’re limited to the Stop & Shop in White Plains. If you have a means of transportation, then a couple markets in the area would be great to try out and see how you like them.
